Tekua
I've had the privilege of being handed complete creative reins over Tekua, by far my favorite project to date. The visual identity draws deeply from Nahui Ollin, a 16th century concept from Aztec and Mexica cosmology. "Nahui" means four, "Ollin" means movement or motion, together representing a philosophy of balance and constant change. In the codices, Ollin was rendered as two interlaced lines with four ends, a symbol that has since found new life as an educational framework in social justice and ethnic studies spaces. Bringing that depth of meaning into Tekua's design has made this the most personally rewarding work I've done.
